Content Warning: Silas is an original character from a smutty fantasy story line, so please be advised that content regarding his character might contain sexual themes. Nothing here will contain anything explicit!

Appearance - Original design and artwork was done by me.

Silas is age 25 and roughly 5'6" tall, he has a heavy build for his size. His ears are lily flowers, which grow out of his head from a base located where typical human ears would be. These ears are expressive and move in ways consistent with a naturally growing flower, though they react as quickly as any gesture. This can include closing when he's asleep, appearing wilted when he is upset, and give off a luminous glow when he's embarrassed, among other reactions. The unnatural pink color and luster of his hair makes it appear to be made of silk and feels similarly soft to the touch. He has long, sharper lower teeth that poke out his lips like small tusks. His lower back has a short tail, but he keeps it hidden under his clothing.

He's most often wearing his Druid attire, which is specially woven fabric with Fae Silk, which shifts along with his transformation. This consists of a heavy cloak, vest, cravat, undershirt, pants, gloves, and boots.

As a druid, Silas can morph into a secondary form, a boar. His Faesilk clothing transforms back and forth with him between shapes. His gloves and boots simply disappear in his boar form and reappear when he shifts back.

This form is unique to him and the only one he can take, though the size can vary depending on the reason for transforming. If he transformed due to anger, the boar can be very large, if he transformed out of fear, be can end up a small piglet. If he focuses, he can choose which form to take, but rarely does so and is not particularly practiced at this. This animal form has mossy green fur which is soft and sponge like to the touch. In this form he grows long tusks and sharper teeth, which have pink cracks and veins across them like marble stone. His ears are also lilies in this form. His tail is a single pink flower petal, in a ringlet curl.

WHAT UP ALL THIS IS KINDA OLD AND I HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT UP IN A WHILE. Might not be 100% ACCURATE to how I am currently developing Silas, but is definitely a baseline of what is up with him. I will... edit this eventually.

Personality:

Silas is a kindhearted and well meaning person, with a deep sense of duty and responsibility to help others. He believes and tries his best to act altruistically. He isn't one to seek glory or act selfishly. Helping others is his greatest motivation and he finds healing to be his true calling. He is the kind to value self sacrifice over his own well being, but isn't foolishly reckless. He is very empathetic and protective of those in need and will go out of his way to help however he can.

Though he's not a prideful sort, Silas isn't above acting self satisfied in his own abilities. He can be rather smug in successfully achieving what others told him he couldn't, though he tries to downplay even this with an (albeit sometimes haughty) humility. Over all, Silas tends to masquerade his low self esteem as being humble, not thinking himself worthy of bragging. He's apt to feel more pride in others than anything he did himself. He's very open with praise and compliments others with ease. That said, Silas can be catty at times, a little sarcastic and snippy if someone's ego is being particularly annoying to him. This is a side effect of his Springtide upbringing, who are a people who often revel in bringing down others to prop themselves up. He tries to not indulge in being so petty, much preferring to be positive, but sometimes it slips.

Silas was born into the culture of the Springtide, which is focused on performing society expectations of respect and propriety at all times. As a result, Silas is extremely repressed in regards to intimacy and sexuality. He holds a lot of shame and guilt associated with his desires for anything pleasurable. The outlet he found for these feelings was with food, drinking, and smoking. The trade off of seeming gluttonous over lustful was one he was willing to make. Truthfully, he has a mind that wanders into inappropriate fantasies more often then he'd ever admit. Druids are chaste and thus Silas has never had to confront his issues with either physical or emotion intimacy. In part, he was motivated to become a Druid to avoid such things, genuinely terrified of any consequence associated with opening up to another person. He would claim he has no interest in such things, but it's largely a facade, wanting someone to close the distance and break down his walls. Silas has a lot of growth to go through before he'd allow himself to want more.

In tense circumstance, Silas' often seeks to see the humor in it. This is his prefered method to release stress, with a laugh rather than tears. He knows he can be a two faced person at times, sometimes at odds with his own Druidic persona. He's also quick to lie, divert attention, or cover up what he doesn't want to confront. While he's very easily flustered or panicked, sometimes he can keep it under his skin, putting on a very brave face when met with stressful situations or conflict. He can maintain a great degree of composure while under pressure, only to break down later from the weight of it. When he's truly upset or disgusted by something, he's prone to shutting down and growing distant, internalizing his fears or problems instead of voicing them.

Silas has some pretty severe self doubt, but he's able to resolve himself against it and forge onward even if he suspects the worst. His fierce sense of determination often wins out against his more cowardly side, mind telling him to fly, while his instincts stand to fight. He considers this a kind of false bravado, even if the result is actually him acting with bravery. Even if this reaction works out in his favor, he will regret acting with such impulsiveness later. He is very stubborn and difficult to dissuade once his mind is made up. He wants to be more collected and calculating, but doesn't often manage to be so perfectly unwaivering. For these reasons, and his wandering mind, he doesn't considering himself a very good Druid.

History: Everything below is prior to the events of his main adventure.

Silas is from a largely subterranean dwelling clan called the Springtide. Once apart of a plains dwelling tribe at the center of the world, the Springtide are descendants of those humans who first harnessed magic for themselves and wrought devastation on the world through conquest and misuse of their power. They ravaged the natural resources of their homeland to the point of ruin and were banished from the center of the world. The Springtide were sent into the forests, where the Fae resided, assuredly to their deaths. Instead, the Fae took pity on the remaining Springtide, as many of them had simply been curious explorers of magic and other realms, not beyond redemption. Showing the Springtide how to live within the earth, hidden away and secluded, they survived. Many hundreds of years passed between then and Silas' birth, but the history of his people is woven in with his personal journey.

Silas himself was born into a poor family, though he scarcely remembers them or ever living in poverty. His father, an unsuccessful miner, discovered a wildly valuable vein of magical crystals, which made their family vastly wealthy over night. Silas was sent away to a prestigious boarding school immediately, while his parents enjoyed their newly acquired fortune with reckless abandon. Only years later, when Silas was eight years of age, both his parents died in mysterious circumstance leaving him the only heir to their remaining fortune. He fell into the care of another wealthy family at this time, who took his money under their vault, only accessible when Silas was of age. Swiftly, the family arranged Silas' future marriage to their own son to consolidate the wealth. Silas, even at a young age, knew he wanted nothing to do with the political games and maneuvering of the Springtide aristocracy.

Desiring his own path in life, he looked for any avenue he could pursue to escape his decided role in society. After a run in with a Druid of the Springtide, he made up his mind and went into training to become one himself. This made him unable to fulfill his arranged marriage, as Druids are disallowed from such arrangements as apart of their celibacy. He could also no longer be in the ownership of worldly possessions, so his family wealth fell into a limbo of sorts, unable to be removed from the vault it was stored in. To this day he is unaware if the money remains, but he has no use of it, regardless.

His entire teenage life through to his current state of adulthood has been dedicated to the Druidic Order of the Springtide. He was educated by them and persevered through many arduous tests of his mind, body, and will. Though he never felt like he belong in the order, he relied on his superior endurance to bear the burdens placed on him. Despite several acts of disobedience and more than a few humiliating errors, Silas wouldn't be dissuaded from his path to be a Druid.

Eventually, he reached his final task, to be "Seeded" with the magic of Myddvai the life force of the Fae and source of all magics. The ritual involves a sacred seed pod being planted somewhere in the body, generally beneath the skin. Where a druid wishes the seed be planted is... technically their choice, but the Elder's were heavy handed in their suggestion to Silas. He was advised to split the seed and place half in each ear. "You had trouble listening, Silas, you should be blessed with greater obedience as a realized Druid," they told him and he had obeyed.

The seed eventually overtook his ears and from his skull grew two lily flowers in their place. His hair grew in vibrant pink from this point onward, as well. Strange at first, but Silas grew accustomed to them very quickly. What he did not grow accustomed to, even after half a decade of being a realized druid, is his transformation into a boar. Each druid takes a very individual form reminiscent of their personality and the form of the Myddvai sprout on their body. Pigs are not regarded very kindly among the Springtide, seen largely as filthy animals, so the form was less than flattering for him.

Purposefully, he went into a branch of the Druidhood that requires him to transform very rarely, that of the Healing Circle. Since becoming a druid, Silas has spent his days working largely as a doctor. He specializes in the delivery of newborn children, the care of expectant mothers, and aiding in healing those ill with disease. Perhaps the only aspect of sexuality the Springtide do not have hang ups over, childbirth was not something Silas has ever been squeamish about. He also enjoys the company of patients and children, finding his work highly fulfilling.

As a druid, his magic is a direct drain on his physical energy and often leads to him falling into deep sleep for longer hours than the average human. In extreme cases he can sometimes sleep for days on end. After overexerting himself, he fell into a slumber that lasted nearly a week and in his dreams saw vivid visions of a great disaster on the horizon. As Druidic dreams are often prophetic in nature, he went to the Elder Council of Druids with a request to undergo an intensive meditation, which they allowed him.

The visions appeared to him again, but clearer and more alarming than before. Silas saw a great storm flooding all the lands of the world, at first causing great natural bounty to sprout in it's wake. At first, it felt like a blessing, but soon overflowed like a cup poured over. Rivers swelled, grasses grew too tall for animals to thrive, the snows fell enough to bury kingdoms... then it all fell away in a rush back inward, to some kind of hidden temple the storm had burst from, like water returning to the sea after a tidal wave.

Again, Silas went to the Elders and told them of his vision. He sensed that they knew what he spoke of, that it was indeed a looming threat. Rather than act, they insisted still that it was not their place to intervene. Disgusted by their lack of concern, angry though a proper Druid would have been calm and accepting of their wisdom, Silas meditated again against their wishes.

In his third vision, he saw a shining beckon of hope in the darkness, who stood beside him and bolstered him to great deeds. He felt more than a sense of obligation; genuine love. The figure was unclear, Silas knew not who they could be. All he could remember was the rolling plains and the open sky around them... or what he assumed to be such things, as he had never seen such places with his own eyes. The Springtide live largely below ground and even the spaces they occupy above it are covered in trees so dense, the sky is scarcely visible.

He knew he would need to travel to the center of the world and find the one person who might help him stop such a disaster. So, without heed to the Elders, Silas left the Springtide lands alone. He found himself on a journey to discover the lost temple and stop the disaster on the horizon. Along the way, he knew he'd find the person from his vision and their connection would give him the strength he would need.
